Dr. Wei, a native Texan, graduated from Denton High School in Denton, Texas.  She attended the 6-year accelerated BS/MD program at the University of Miami and received her BS degree from the University of Miami where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  She graduated from Yale University School of Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Wei completed her internship in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1997 and her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2000.  Her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology was completed at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC with Marshall M. Parks, MD in 2000 and 2001.

Dr. Wei practiced pediatric ophthalmology exclusively in Northern Virginia from 2001 to 2004 and practiced adult and pediatric ophthalmology in a number of locations in DC and Virginia from 2005 to 2007 until she opened her solo practice in Arlington, Virginia in October 2007.

Dr. Wei is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.  She served as president of the Northern Virginia Pediatric Society in 2007.

Dr. Wei has devoted time to medical and surgical ophthalmic missions in Mexico and plans to organize more ophthalmic missions in the future.
